Frequently asked questions
I’m from a non-technical background. Can I move into Data Analytics?
Absolutely. I also come from a non-technical background — I started with a B.Sc. in Biology, followed by an MBA, sales experience, and eventually moved into Data Analytics in tech. The transition is possible, but it requires the right roadmap, practical skills, and consistent effort. I can help you understand what to learn and where to start.
Which domain should I choose for my analytics career?
Domain selection can make a big difference in your career growth. I can help you understand how analytics is applied across different domains, what kinds of business problems analysts solve, important KPIs, and what skills can make you more relevant to a particular domain.
Should I choose Data Analyst, Business Analyst, BI Analyst, or Product Analyst?
There isn’t one right answer for everyone. Each role has different responsibilities, skills, and career paths. I can help you compare these roles based on your education, experience, interests, strengths, and long-term goals, so you can make a more informed decision.
How do I build projects that actually help my resume?
A good project should demonstrate more than your ability to use a tool. I recommend starting with a real business problem → identifying the right data → analyzing it → finding insights → communicating recommendations. I can help you structure projects around this approach rather than creating projects that only showcase dashboards.
I have learned SQL, Excel, and Power BI, but I’m still not getting interviews. What should I improve?
Learning tools is only one part of becoming job-ready. Your resume, project quality, LinkedIn presence, portfolio, communication, business understanding, and interview preparation all matter. I can review your current profile and help identify where the biggest gaps may be.
How can AI and GenAI help in an analytics career?
AI can become a powerful productivity tool for analysts when used thoughtfully. I’m exploring how AI and GenAI can support research, data exploration, problem-solving, documentation, analysis, and learning. I can help you understand where AI fits into an analytics workflow and where fundamental analytical skills are still essential.
What can my career growth look like after becoming a Data Analyst?
There is no single fixed path. Depending on your interests, you can grow toward Senior Data/BI Analyst, Business Analytics, Product Analytics, Analytics Consulting, or eventually Product Management and other specialized roles. I can help you map possible paths based on your strengths and long-term goals rather than following a generic career ladder.
My resume is 90%+ ATS compliant. Why am I still not getting selected?
A high ATS score can be helpful, but ATS compatibility does not guarantee shortlisting. Recruiters also look at how closely your experience matches the job description, the relevance of your skills and projects, measurable achievements, role alignment, experience level, and how clearly your resume communicates your value. Sometimes the issue isn’t the ATS score — it’s positioning, relevance, competition, or applying for roles that don’t closely match your profile. I can help you look beyond the ATS score and identify what may actually be preventing your resume from getting shortlisted.
What can I expect from a guidance session with you?
The goal is to leave the session with more clarity and practical next steps. We can discuss your current background, target role, skills, domain interests, career direction, resume or LinkedIn positioning, and the gaps you need to work on. I won’t promise shortcuts or guaranteed jobs. My approach is to give you an honest assessment, help you understand your options, and build a practical direction from where you are today.
Does paying for a career coach or career guidance actually make sense?
It can — but only when you know what problem you’re trying to solve. If you’re confused about which role to choose, what skills to prioritize, how to transition from another background, or how to position your resume and LinkedIn, personalized guidance can save you time and help you avoid unnecessary trial and error.
How important is GitHub for an analytics career?
GitHub can be useful for showcasing your projects, SQL work, Python analysis, documentation, and problem-solving approach. However, having a GitHub profile alone doesn’t make a candidate job-ready. What matters more is the quality of your projects, how clearly you explain the business problem and insights, and whether your work demonstrates practical analytical thinking. I can help you structure your GitHub and projects so they present your skills more effectively.
How can I find genuine remote opportunities in Analytics?
Remote opportunities require more than applying to a large number of jobs. You need a strong profile, relevant projects, targeted applications, networking, and the ability to demonstrate that you can work independently. I can help you understand where to look for remote analytics roles, how to position your profile, which skills to highlight, and how to approach international opportunities.
