I always thought that I liked to build/design parts and tools. It seemed like an appropriate dream given my background in mechanical engineering. I leaned towards designing mechanical parts and tools but I felt that it is not utilizing my full potential. From my childhood, I have always been creative, from designing small lego warships to creating art. Then, I stumbled across UX through one of my friends who thought I should give it a try due to my creative intellect. I did a couple of courses, liked it, and then I decided to invest in myself by starting a BootCamp with CareerFoundry. How do I know I love UX you ask? I love the way my tone and my eyes light up as I am explaining UX-related things to my friends or gaining some new tricks from my colleagues. UX is such a vast field and there are a plethora of things to learn. I love the fact that there is always something new and every challenge is unique. My specialties involve learning new skills and techniques, End-to-end UX design such as User Research, Information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. I also take into consideration, the WCAG guidelines so that my designs are inclusive. I have a wide array of tools under my belt such as Figma, Adobe creative suite ( Adobe Xd, Adobe After Effects for micro-animations, Photoshop, Illustrator for vector design and logos), Invision, Balsamiq, etc. I am actively trying to learn new things such as 3d illustrations, UX for AR/VR, UX for games, etc so that I can widen my skill set as a UX designer.
