🔹 ABSORPTION vs STRIPPING — Quick Concept for Process Engineers

In mass transfer operations, absorption and stripping are opposite processes:

🔵 ABSORPTION

Gas → Liquid

A soluble component is transferred from a gas phase into a liquid solvent.

Example:

CO₂ removal using an amine solution.

🔴 STRIPPING

Liquid → Gas

A volatile component is transferred from a liquid phase into a gas phase.
