Hello! I'm Ritul, a public policy professional with three years of experience in India's non-profit and impact consulting sector. After graduating with a degree in Philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi, I've charted my own course through India's social impact sector - building key skills, discovering opportunities and honing my areas of interest. I started my journey as a Teach For India Fellow, where I taught over 40 middle-schoolers in a government school in New Delhi's urban slum areas. Concurrently, I interned with SEWA Bharat, a leading non-profit working with informally employed women to drive their outreach and communications strategy. Post TFI, I transitioned to the impact consulting sector to work with Sattva Consulting, on their largest government engagement project with NITI Aayog. Here, we've built the nation's largest repository of policies, best practices, and data sets, enabling informed decision making in policies and projects across all levels of the government. Knowing that I wanted to focus my postgraduate education on public policy, I applied to top universities worldwide with just over two years' work experience under my belt. I successfully secured over five acceptances across the US, UK and Europe, including Harvard University, the University of Chicago, Columbia University and Cambridge University. With topmate, I hope to help people pivot or grow in the development sector - through career chats, admissions guidance, or any other kind of mentoring. In particular, I am passionate about helping other young professionals navigate the sector, explore study abroad opportunities, and eventually contribute to the growing social impact movement at large.
