TOPIK 1 : 500+ High frequency Vocabulary with Ritika Dixit

I’ve been asked quite a few times for good vocabulary resources for TOPIK I, especially after sharing my own TOPIK journey and scoring 200/200 in TOPIK I.

When I started looking into the resources available online, I found plenty of vocabulary lists with 1,500–2,000+ words, but they were often quite broad and unorganised. For someone preparing specifically for TOPIK I, I felt it could be difficult to know what to actually prioritise.

While preparing myself, I realised that previous-year TOPIK papers are one of the most useful resources. A lot of vocabulary gets repeated across papers, so instead of trying to study every possible Korean word, I decided to analyse the papers themselves.

For this e-book, I analysed 10 previous-year TOPIK I papers and extracted around 500+ of the most frequently appearing vocabulary words.

I then organised them into sections such as:

• Nouns

• Verbs

• Adjectives

• Adverbs

• Numbers & Counters

• Time, Dates & Calendar

• Question, Location & Direction Words

And further into categories such as People & Relationships, Food, Travel, School, Shopping, Home, Hobbies, Weather, Health and more.

Each word includes its English meaning and an example sentence, with a 🔥 marker on the words that appeared with particularly high frequency, so you can easily identify what to prioritise.

I’ve also included:

• A 2-page revision tracker for words you keep forgetting or getting wrong

• Revision recaps to help you revisit the vocabulary

• A simple layout designed for easy digital navigation and revision

Based on the frequency analysis of these 10 papers, learning this focused set of vocabulary can cover a substantial portion of the vocabulary you’re likely to encounter in TOPIK I — roughly 70–80% based on my analysis.

I made this because I genuinely believe that for TOPIK I, you don't always need to study more, you need to study what matters.
