SOP Review for MS Applicants

I wrote my SOP four times. The first three got rejections. The fourth — built around what I didn't have instead of what I did — got me into UC Irvine.

Most SOP advice is written for IIT/IIM kids. If you're non-IIT with a low GPA, gap years, multiple GRE attempts, or a service-company background, the standard template actively works against you. Your SOP needs a different structure.

What we'll do in 30 minutes:

• Open your current draft and rewrite the opening paragraph live (the 6 seconds that decide if anyone keeps reading)
• Reframe the "weakness" sections — low GPA, gap years, average undergrad — so they become narrative strength, not apology
• Add specificity. Generic "passion for data science" gets cut; concrete evidence stays
• Build the program-fit paragraph using research the admissions committee can actually verify
• Identify the 5 phrases in your SOP that need to be deleted immediately

What you'll send 24 hours before:

• Your current SOP draft (any stage, even messy)
• 2–3 target universities
• GRE / GPA / work-ex summary

What you walk away with:

• Annotated SOP with live edits and rewrites
• A rewritten opening paragraph we'll co-write together
• A 1-week revision checklist with exact next steps

Best for: Non-IIT applicants, working professionals, low-GPA candidates, anyone told their SOP is "too generic." If your SOP doesn't yet exist, book the MS Abroad Strategy session first.
