I am a senior full stack .NET engineer with 14 years of commercial experience, working across web, desktop, and cloud based systems. I have spent most of my career building and maintaining long lived production applications, often in environments with real world constraints around time, budget, and legacy code. Alongside being hands on with development, I have also worked as a dev team lead. In that role I was responsible for vetting CVs, interviewing candidates, and helping to grow the team by mentoring developers at all levels, from juniors through to seniors. I regularly supported people with technical decision making, code reviews, debugging difficult issues, and helping them level up both technically and professionally. I was also involved in day to day team leadership, planning work, unblocking developers, and making sure projects stayed on track. As part of running development teams, I also worked closely with testers and business analysts. I managed and coordinated testing efforts to maintain quality and reduce risk, and worked with business analysts to gather domain knowledge and requirements. A key part of my role was translating that domain knowledge into clear, practical technical solutions that the development team could implement effectively, while making sure the intent of the business requirements was preserved. From a technical perspective, my background covers the full Microsoft stack. This includes C# and .NET across older frameworks through to modern .NET, SQL databases and data modelling, REST and SOAP APIs, and a wide range of frontend technologies. I have worked with WebForms and traditional desktop applications, as well as more modern UI frameworks such as UWP, MAUI, and Avalonia. I also have extensive experience working with Azure, including cloud hosted applications, integrations, and CI CD pipelines. I often work in a consultant style capacity, helping teams think through architecture, migrations, and trade offs rather than just writing code in isolation. This includes modernising legacy systems, choosing sensible technologies, improving performance and maintainability, and pressure testing ideas before time is spent building the wrong thing. My approach is practical and experience led. I focus on clear, honest advice that takes into account real constraints and long term maintainability, not just ideal solutions on paper.
