I just attended my first 'Think Better Live Better' session, and I'm awestruck. This one session taught me a lot more than any workshops I have attended. Despite holding a master's degree in psychology, as a fresher, I am unsure how to conduct a therapy session. Shameful, I know. But, I'm very aware of the harsh reality of the gap between my skills and the real therapist representation I aspire to be. I have always been taught how not to be as a therapist, all the ethics to hold, how not to advise the clients, how to collect MSE and Case history, and what the theoretical foundation is. Was taught how to be a psychologist in theory, but never in practice. The saddening part of psychology education in Indian universities. But today, I saw a therapist in action. It was NOT a workshop on REBT modality. It was NOT a course on REBT. It was NOT a webinar. She was just a therapist during our discussions. And that taught and inspired me a lot more. than I can say.
Build A Therapist is therapy practice run by Renuka Kavishwar. She holds a M.Sc. in Psychology with a specialization in Counseling. She is an REBT therapist and ADHD informed, having 2+ years of therapy experience, conducted over 1000+ successful therapy sessions and interaction with 300+ clients.
