I'm an electronic engineer and machine learning practitioner with over 10 years of industry experience. I have a PhD in electronic engineering where my focus was on algorithms for approximate Bayesian inference. The first part of my career was spent as an electronic engineer in the railway industry where I spent a significant amount of time doing data analysis and process improvement (lean six sigma) as well as signal processing. After this, I spent the majority of my career consulting for Praelexis AI, mostly in fintech, but also on projects involving signal processing, e-commerce and video object recognition. I am now working for Lidl Digital, part of Schwartz group, as the lead MLOps engineer, where I am involved in a range of data science projects on a technical and advisory level. I'm skilled in Python, C++, data analysis, machine learning and data science, data and machine learning engineering, cloud architecture / development and process improvement. My engineering background helps me to contribute to a wide range of fields, and often to allow me to understand the bigger, system level picture. I have a strong continuous improvement background (Lean Six Sigma) and love to see how these principles apply to MLOps and the lifecycle of complex systems. A few facts about me: + I am an engineer at heart and love the idea of combining engineering with machine learning. + I have two kiddies who have challenged me and shaped my outlook more than most of my working experience combined. They have taught me how to multi-task when needed and also to prioritise in a very agile manner. + I am a people's person and work best as part of a team. + My favourite part about work, in general, is seeing progress, and knowing that I have contributed to something special.
