I have been working as an assistant professor at the School of Biotechnology, National Institute of Technology, Calicut, Kerala, India, since Aug 2020. Before joining here, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. Currently, I am teaching subjects like Introduction to Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Structural Biology and Biostatistics, AI and ML in Life Sciences and Python for Biologist to undergraduate engineering students. I am also handling the Bioinformatics laboratory which includes 12 fundamental experiments like biological data retrieval from various databases, protein structure prediction, docking and drug designing, genomes comparison with annotation and Phylogenetic analysis. I also mentor final year and 3rd year engineering students for their minor and major projects. I am also supervising 6 PhD Students who are working in cancer biology, drug discovery, and PCOS. I have published peer reviewed research papers in reputed journals. I am also a reviewer of prestigious journals (Cancer Medicine, Molecular Diversity and Journal of Biomolecular Structure & Dynamics and Frontiers in Bioinformatics, Frontiers in Genetics). During my 2 Years of Postdoc as a Genome analyst, I developed diagnostic tests based on Next Generation Sequencing data analysis for solid tumor cancer gene panel leading to personalized treatment based on found mutations.
