Worked in various capacities in Govt of India Departments, I want to take you on my professional journey. ✔The Genesis of a Leader: My journey began at the prestigious Allahabad University, where the seeds of curiosity and knowledge in Physics were sown. This academic foundation propelled me into the Indian Meteorological Service in 1985, where I embraced the role of Assistant Meteorologist. ✔Forging Resilience in the Antarctic: The Antarctic called to me, and I answered, spending over 42 months in the harshest environment on Earth. As the Leader and Station Commander of the Indian Antarctic Station Maitri during the 21st Indian Antarctic Expedition, I steered a team of 50 Summer / 25 Winter during the expedition, managing operations on land, air, and sea. ✔From Expedition to Administration: Returning from the Antarctic, my leadership qualities shone brightly, catching the attention of higher management. I transitioned to administrative roles at the India Meteorological Department Headquarters in New Delhi, serving as Director of Budget & Planning and Finance Officer. Here, I directed the implementation of departmental schemes and oversaw financial management, reflecting the meticulous planning and resource allocation skills honed in the Antarctic. ✔A Scholar and a Consultant : Post-retirement, my thirst for knowledge led me to complete an MBA in Financial Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets Practice from IGNOU. My expertise became a beacon for various government departments, where I served as a consultant, sharing the wisdom gathered from the ice-covered wilderness and the corridors of governance. ✔The Antarctic Metaphor: The Antarctic represents more than a physical challenge; it is a crucible for leadership.
