About me
I am a Senior Research Engineer in AR/VR/XR at Samsung Semiconductor US, where I work on mapping and localization using novel sensors on mobile platforms. I joined Samsung in May 2023, after completing my postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Michigan, where I was affiliated with the Ford Center for Autonomous Vehicles (FCAV).
My research focuses on calibration, sensor fusion, and perception for mobile robotics, AR/VR/XR, and autonomous driving applications. I have worked with a plethora of sensors, such as LiDAR, stereo RGB/event/thermal cameras, and GNSS/INS sensors, and I specialize in their intrinsic and extrinsic calibration. I have published multiple papers and won several awards for my research, including the Roland S. Corning II Memorial Fund and three-time winner of the 3MT Competition.
I hold a PhD in Geomatics and a MS in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, where I worked as a graduate research and teaching assistant for over five years. I also have a B.Tech. with Double Majors in Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
I am passionate about solving robotic perception problems using cutting-edge sensors and algorithms, and I aspire to advance the state-of-the-art in mapping and localization solutions.
