I'm a seasoned designer with 20 years of experience leading UX, service design, research, and product management for enterprise, government, and non-profit clients. My expertise is in using product innovation and systems thinking to identify poor user experiences and unmet user needs, translating research into hypothesis-driven design. I’ve led design and managed multidisciplinary teams, taught user research, managed and mentored designers and presented on speculative design in research and how to get into civic tech. I've helped the Dept. of Veterans Affairs get excited about user research and design, simplified ordering for Tesla, helped the City of New York manage Open Data, and so much more. My passion is designing products that help people connect, engage, tame complexity, and create impact and business value. I've taught user research, presented on speculative design in research, been published on a few online journals, and spoken publicly on how to get into civic tech. I'm an active member of several design organizations, including most recently Creatives for Climate.
