I’m Rachael Smith, founder of The Education Futurist. I help education, youth, public, social impact and mission-led organisations use strategic foresight, futures literacy and AI literacy in practical ways. My background spans school leadership, curriculum design, international education, primary research and institutional change. I have worked at group level in international education as Group Head of Future Ready Learning for Charterhouse Asia, and I am part of the Metafuture network connected to the UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies. I advise schools, universities, NGOs, foundations, social enterprises, public-sector teams and corporates working with education or youth partners. This includes support with future-ready curriculum, AI literacy, youth agency, programme design, governance, sector insight, partnership strategy and new education ventures. I am currently writing on futures thinking in education and will be teaching on the MASc Education Futures at the London Interdisciplinary School. My work supports leaders, founders, boards and programme teams to examine the futures they are planning around, identify outdated assumptions, and design better curriculum, strategy, governance and social impact.
