I didn't start in data. My first job was in a support role, and after 3–4 months there I knew I wanted to move into data and analytics.

Between December 2024 and early 2026 I gave 50+ interviews and got rejected again and again. At one point I had been without a job for 4–5 months. Then I cleared 3–4 rounds at a big MNC, got selected and received my offer letter. On my joining day, they told me the offer was on hold. It never came back.

I didn't stop. I worked on real-time projects, practised SQL, built better Power BI projects and went deep into GenAI, especially how AI and analytics can work together. I also learned to relax a little: if you keep doing the work, the job does come. Sometimes it's only a matter of time.

In 2026 I landed my role as an AI Engineer & Analyst. Today I work on GenAI and AI agents, and I clear most interviews I sit for. So when I say you can start from the bottom and still make it, I'm talking from experience.
