As a Principal Software Architect at Microsoft, he leads the architecture of Microsoft Entra Global Secure Access (GSA) — Microsoft's Security Service Edge (SSE) platform — securing how enterprise users, devices, and AI workloads connect to Microsoft 365, Azure, Copilot Studio, private applications, and the wider internet. His agentless SSE architecture secures AI-agent traffic for the 230,000+ organizations building agents on Microsoft Copilot Studio, enforcing enterprise security policy without any endpoint software. His earlier work at Citrix helped define the secure-remote-work category — including ZTNA and CASB — now standard across large enterprises globally. Within Microsoft, Punit provides technical leadership to a global team of 100+ engineers across three geographies as a senior individual-contributor architect.
Punit holds 17 patents worldwide, cited 565+ times by companies including Cisco, IBM, Intel, Capital One, Bank of America, and Cloudflare — several of them (such as US 8,844,040 and US 10,778,684) foundational to a broad class of zero-trust and SASE products.
