As a startup founder, I’ve learned that the journey is far from glamorous. It’s messy, chaotic, and often full of doubts. To stay grounded through it all, I built something simple yet powerful: the Demotivation Killer Metric—an Excel sheet that became my silent companion through every high and low.

It’s not just a spreadsheet. It’s the real-time autobiography of my startup life.

Here’s how I use it: I log every great moment, rating it from 5 to 10. I only record the tough setbacks, rating those between 1 and 5. At the end of each month, I take a step back and reflect. That’s when I realize—most of those hard moments were just tiny blips. The progress always outweighs the chaos.

So now, I make it a ritual: I pour myself a cup of tea, open the sheet, and review the journey. And every time, I walk away feeling a little prouder, a little more focused.

This sheet isn’t just data—it’s my story in the making. Maybe it can be yours too.
