NotebookLM for your notes: steps + prompts with Raghu Datta

NotebookLM is a free Google tool that answers from the material you give it: your textbook PDFs, college notes and handouts. From that material it can make a podcast-style audio, a short explainer video, a mind map, flashcards and a quiz, all focused on the one concept you are stuck on.

This guide walks you through it step by step: one notebook per subject, adding your sources, finding more sources and importing only the useful ones, asking about one concept with a simple example, and making focused Audio and Video Overviews, with copy-paste prompts for each step. The free plan is enough to start; it has usage limits.
