Dr. Shahram Yousefi is a people person who innovates to find harmony and synergy among team members to drive 2-10x results. He is a passionate problem-solver with a strong belief that people are our biggest assets in every team or organization. He believes a laser focus on learning, growth, and harmony is the recipe to create success for the individuals as well as the entire organization. Today’s digital gig economy needs lean and quick iterations to avoid pitfalls and that is why Shahram focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation at the intersection of academic and high-tech worlds. Be it providing impactful education or creating a game-changing technology, we need to think "different" and not "better" as we focus on growth. Over the past few years, Prof. Yousefi has been working on a number of special projects in the areas of entre/intrapreneurship education and professional experience within engineering education. Shahram is also a serial entrepreneur who seeks harmony and growth in all interactions and endeavours. Prof. Yousefi has held positions at Edward S. Rogers Sr. department of electrical and computer engineering, University of Toronto, Canada, Ecole Polytechnique Fédéral de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, Jilin University, China, University of California, Santa Cruz, USA, and department of electrical and computer engineering of Queen's University, Kingston, Canada, where he is currently a tenured full professor and Associate Dean, Corporate Relations. Shahram also served as the editor-in-chief of the IEEE Canadian journal of electrical and computer engineering. His research interests lie in communications, cloud systems, big data, networks, information theory, signal processing, control, and algorithms in which he holds a number of patents. He has co-founded Canarmony Corp., MESH Scheduling Inc., and OPTT Inc. to apply algorithms to make life better and more harmonious in a number of areas. One of Shahram’s patents in the area of data storage aims to revolutionize a $500b solid state/cloud storage industry.
