About me
I didn't come from IIT or NIT. I graduated from a Tier 3 engineering college in Delhi — the kind of place where nobody from your batch had made it to a product company, let alone Google. That gap between where I started and where I am today is not something I try to hide. It's the most important thing I want you to know about me, because it means everything I've built, I've had to figure out myself.
I started my career at TCS as a developer — the traditional path for most engineering graduates in India. But I knew service companies were a stepping stone, not the destination. Within the Analytics & Insights team, I stopped thinking like a developer and started thinking like a data scientist. I built an unsupervised machine learning model that automated six full-time employees' worth of manual work, saving a logistics client €150K a year. I built AI-powered medical coding software that brought in two new business clients. I was learning fast, but I needed to prove it in a product environment.
Cracking Flipkart was the first real inflection point. In a company known for hiring from the IITs, I got in on the strength of what I'd built. At Flipkart, I owned the Customer Pain framework for one of India's largest e-commerce platforms — building dashboards, data pipelines, and statistical models that tracked and reduced imperfect experiences for over 140 million customers. I developed a Customer Quality Score that ranked users by profitability and genuineness, which became the foundation for personalisation across the entire organisation. My causal analysis linking bad delivery experiences to long-term churn drove a 37% reduction in customer pain metrics. That's not a slide deck number — that's a real change in how millions of customers experienced the product.
Then came PayPal. As a Senior Data Scientist, I led analytics across 15+ privacy and regulatory programs spanning 10 countries — safeguarding $200M+ in annual transaction volume. I introduced causal inference methods — Synthetic Control and Propensity Score Matching — to evaluate programs that couldn't be A/B tested. I owned executive dashboards and Weekly Business Reviews that shaped go-to-market strategy for new markets, including the NFC rollout in Germany. I was promoted and recognised with multiple Outstanding Performer Awards.
And now, Google. I'm here because I kept choosing hard things over comfortable ones. Because I published research when nobody asked me to. Because I learned IIM Ahmedabad's Advanced Business Analytics program while working full-time. Because I never let the college I came from define the career I built.
I mentor people who are exactly where I was — smart, ambitious, working hard, but unsure how to break into product companies, crack data science roles at scale, or navigate the jump from service to product. I know what those rejections feel like. I know the gap between "strong on paper" and "hired." I can help you close it.
If you're a data analyst or aspiring data scientist trying to break into product companies, or a working professional who wants to understand how to use AI to accelerate your career, let's talk. I don't do generic advice. I've been in your shoes, and I'll tell you exactly what worked — and what didn't.
