While most coaching is centred around one's Ideal Self, I believe in the magic of the Favorite Self.
The ideal self is who you think you should be. It's shaped by societal expectations, family conditioning, and internalized standards of success or worthiness. It often carries the pressure of perfection—always polished, productive, and impressive. However, while it can spark growth, chasing the ideal self can also lead to burnout, self-criticism, and a disconnection from who you truly are.
The favorite self, on the other hand, is who you love being. It’s the version of you that feels alive, grounded, and at ease. It’s not about being flawless—it’s about being fully you, in alignment with your values, your joy, and your natural rhythm.
And often, it's this self—not the idealized one—that leads to the most meaningful life.
“You can do it like it’s a great weight on you, or you can do it like it’s part of the dance.”
— Ram Dass
