About me

Pratishtha Deveshwar is a globally recognized motivational speaker, disability rights activist and public policy expert. A graduate of the University of Oxford, she made history as the first wheelchair-user from India to study at Oxford, transforming a personal challenge into a mission! She lives to tell her story and inspire change. Her powerful voice has resonated across the world — from the United Nations and TEDx stages to panels at international conferences in Canada, Kenya, Thailand and China. Pratishtha has led grassroots campaigns for the Government of India as an Ambassador for India's flagship campaign for women's empowerment "Beti Bachaao, beti Padhaao" and currently drives gender equity programming as an Associate with Girl Up India which is an initiative of the United Nations Foundation. Her work has earned her accolades including The Diana Award, the UK-India Achievers Honour at the UK Parliament, and the Distinguished Alumna Award from her alma mater Lady Shri Ram College for Women.
