Hi Everyone - Greetings !! This is Prateek Giri. I am currently working as an Analyst for a Family Office Fund in Delhi. I started my career as an Equity Research Intern for a Mumbai based PMS in 2017 while still in 3rd year of my engineering. Since then it has been an exciting journey with varied experiences. After an initial stint in Capital Markets (and making a bit of money😅). I jumped to the other side-building businesses and started working for a Bengaluru based D2C brand. The stint helped me understand businesses deeper. Revenue/Customers/Expenses/Margins/Inventory/Cash Flows, I could feel all. Business earlier used to be a Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows accounts for me, but working directly for them made me realise that it’s Human Capital more than anything else. Understanding people better was a larger reward I received while building the startup. Manufacturing, E-Commerce and SaaS is where I could build my expertise during these years while working for enterprises in respective sectors. Career trajectory took a turn again and I found myself back in the capital markets after a 3 year de-tour but this time with a little bit of more mature eyes to look into businesses and decode them for investing parlance.
