Chartered Accountant (ICAI, 2021) and law graduate, working in bank credit — currently at IDFC FIRST Bank, earlier at HDFC Bank, underwriting SME term loans and loan-against-property proposals. Before banking: statutory audit at V. Sankar Aiyar & Co., and income tax assessments and appeals.

The law degree isn't decoration. In secured lending, half the file is financials and the other half is title, security and enforceability — and I read both.

So I've seen a balance sheet from every side: preparing it, auditing it, and then deciding whether to lend against it.
