About me

Own2Feet Association is a registered social enterprise dedicated to help small and new nonprofits become more strategic, efficient and unlock more funding. Started in 2021, Own2Feet has comprehensively assessed 25+ nonprofits across India, has partnered with 5 nonprofits for long term transformational capacity building and provided guidance and support to all kind of nonprofit professionals through our free advisory helpline. We also provide research and impact measurement services for CSR. Who are the people behind Own2Feet? Kiran Rao, Founder and Managing Director, is a social sector veteran with 20+ years of experience in the sector across all domains with specialization in Governance and Fundraising. Her deep insights into how the sector really works helps her give practical actionable guidance (and sometimes reality checks!) to other founders and NGO professionals. Kiran is a Psychology major from Madras University and also a Fellow of the Aritra Leadership Acceleration Program, a multi-phased program conducted at IIM Bangalore in 2018-19. Shivani Sharma, Co-Founder and Director, started her career in Market Research with Kantar IMRB and switched to nonprofit sector in 2017. Since then, she has worked in various roles across domains like Monitoring & Evaluation, Research studies and tool design for programs, Governance, Program Design & Management and specializes in Strategic Storytelling & Proposal writing. She holds a MBA in Communications Management from SIMC, Pune We're here to share our experience and expertise, and help make your nonprofit journey just a tad bit easier. People who are not from the sector but are generally curious are also welcome :)
