I am a Self-taught Software Engineer with 6 years of industry experience. My journey started at the University of Dhaka where I started competitive programming in 2014. I particularly enjoyed the ACM ICPC, where my team placed 6th at the Dhaka Regional in 2018. I eventually reached a max rating of 2033 in Codeforces and achieved good standings in various international contests (e.g., placed 1st in Bangladesh in the Google Hash Code 2020).
After graduating, I started my professional career at Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh in 2018. My first project, VeoSens, introduced me to native iOS development using Swift. My contributions included designing and implementing the UI, backend, and a custom video player among other features. Later, I contributed to KME Direct, a cross-platform desktop app, designing its architecture and implementing core components like the installer, offline server, inter-process communication framework, and custom reusable UI components with search, filter, and pagination capabilities. Working with Electron, React.js, Node.js, and Typescript helped me gain valuable experience in web technologies. Collaborating with global teams on these projects taught me effective remote teamwork. I also Led weekly org-wide DS and algo sessions and provided one-on-one mentoring, contributing to achieving the company's 40% SWC certification goal.
I moved to Taiwan in 2022 to join Google's ChromeOS team. My initial project, ChromeOS Bisector, helped me build a deep understanding of distributed systems and proficiency in Golang, Python, Javascript, and Google Cloud Platform. My work on this project provided invaluable experience in building and maintaining a robust and scalable service. For example, Working on the Bisector API project helped me gain a deep understanding of concepts like authentication, authorization, rate limiting, RPC security, and Google's internal infra. I also developed my ability to propose new projects, craft detailed design documents, secure buy-in from leadership, incorporate feedback, align with other teams, and drive projects to completion with full ownership.
Currently, I am focused on bringing innovative image generation features to ChromeOS using on-device machine learning.
