I definitely did NOT have my career figured out at 21 😂 When I moved from India to Canada in 2016, and then again briefy to the US in 2024 - 2025, I thought I had a pretty good idea of how my career would go. Plot twist: I did not!!! I started in retail, moved into banking, transitioned into HR, got laid off, took a chance on a startup that didn’t quite go as planned, and eventually found my way into head of recruitment. Somewhere between all those twists, turns, “what am I doing with my life?” moments, and questionable career decisions, I found what I was actually good at. Today, I’m the Head of Recruitment for a Fortune 500 company with 6+ years of experience in Canada, and I’ve worked across corporate, retail, tech, marketing, finance, IT, legal, operations, and more.
