My name is Nischal Sharma, co-founder at Svenklas. The last 4 years of my life have been crazy. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world, meet incredible people and have had the first seat on the rocketship that is Svenklas(svenklas.com). I am a mountain guy, born in the beautiful city of Dehradun. As a kid I was obsessed with football, but realized I’d never be good enough to make a living from football, that obsession moved to consuming a lot of literature on art, design, photography and architecture that shaped my thought process during my formative years. This interest in a way led me to do various interesting things in college, like creating backpacks from discarded materials with a portable sewing machine. The early lessons of design, structure, symmetry, photography, literature and architecture were some of the most important lessons I’d learn in my life. I realized this could be applied to different areas of my life combined with hard work, consistency and work ethic. This changed everything for me. After I finished college, I worked with a few enterprise product companies where I learned the art of marketing, selling and people management. During this period, I was working with my friend Nikhil on finding ways to create sustainable lifestyle items mainly backpacks made from “non-fuel” based materials. All of this eventually culminated in Svenklas(Svenklas.com) where we are creating a global design-driven sustainable luxury lifestyle accessory D2C/DTC brand creating technical products of the future using sustainable materials for life’s everyday journeys.
