Hey!

If you are a senior/staff+ engineer (>8 YOE), and trying to switch for staff+ engineering roles, then this will the right choice for you to go for.

What's expected in this?

  • Either you can bring a problem by yourself or I can pick one randomly during our discussion.
  • You will design the high-level system just like you are doing an actual interview.
  • We will keep the time check in place.
  • In the end, I will provide detailed feedback about the strength, weaknesses, and opportunity areas where you can approve yourself.

A few things that I will be checking:

  • Requirements (clear and concise)
  • APIs
  • Core Entities (Required entities to store data)
  • Selection of databases and architectural patterns.
  • Go deep dive into at least 2 components.
  • Handling growth/scale.
  • Handling hot-partition/celebrity-problem.
  • Handling heavy write/read throughput and how to achieve them.
  • In-depth knowledge about selection of tech-choices (e.g. why this database vs that database)

Please note that -

  • Only one problem will be discussed.
  • Strict time-check will be followed during the interview just like how it's done in real-interview.

Timing:

  • First 5 mins: Introduction
  • Next 50 mins: Mock Interview
  • Last 20 mins: In-depth feedback
