I assess the situations based on the risk-reward ratio. Now, people in finance and investing would be hearing this a lot, but the same applies to the career of an individual. Making a move, from A to B, comes with its risks and potential rewards. Candidates more often than not, don't see this aspect and miss out on near-best-case scenarios for their career. I have a wide network of people working in Software but working in totally different landscapes. The landscape horizon is very vast. That includes service-based companies, product-based companies, FAANG, startups, working as contractors, doing masters abroad and working in companies abroad, purely technical roles, techno-managerial roles, etc. Hearing from best of all worlds, I try to analyze the career paths of people in best possible way, considering what they want and what they're ready to put up with.
