Thriving in Norway as an International Professional

1:1 Guidance Based on Lived Experience

Norway is a wonderful place to build a meaningful and happy life — one many dream of!

But for many internationals, whether considering a move or preparing to relocate soon, finding opportunities and thriving can feel incredibly difficult, even when you’re talented, qualified, and hardworking.

The challenge usually isn’t skill!

This 1:1 conversation provides a safe, honest space to understand Norway’s nuances, ask real questions, and gain clarity on how to identify and navigate opportunities — all based purely on personal opinion, lived experiences, and discussions with people living and working here.

Why Guidance Helps

Norway can be one of the hardest environments to enter if you don’t know the unwritten rules — and equally challenging to thrive if you don’t adapt to the local way of working.

Many internationals face the same challenge: generic advice and assumptions often fail.

Most are surprised by the gap between what they were told and reality. Strategies that work elsewhere in the EU often fail in Scandinavia, and even Scandinavian norms don’t always apply in Norway. While there are general similarities, the subtle cultural nuances and local expectations can significantly affect your ability to integrate, progress, and thrive.

True success requires shedding misconceptions collected online and adopting a mindset shift based on real insights. My aim is to help you avoid common traps, understand what genuinely matters, and gain a realistic sense of the path ahead.

Why Speak With Me

I’m not here claiming to have “figured everything out.” I’ve simply walked this path in an unconventional way, with a great mix of breakthroughs and challenges, and can provide learnings from both in a capsule, so you can see possibilities, don't have to spend years figuring it out and have an effective way of navigating them.

In just the last 3 years, I have:

Built my career in Norway as a Product Manager
Grown professionally with broader responsibilities.
Worked across multiple organizations
Learned enough of the local language to integrate socially
Lived in different communities before finally finding my home
Managed finances effectively with a large family
Discovered where I truly thrive — I found my niche!

I’ve lived it — I can shatter misconceptions that may be blocking you and help you optimise your next steps.

My approach balances what you can and should change with how to leverage your existing strengths, even without changing what may take time or is outside your control.
