About me
Animesh Gupta works as a Production Network Engineer at Snapchat.
Animesh completed his master's from the renowned ITP program at the University of Colorado Boulder. He has experience of 10+ years in the Routing-Switching, Automation, Wireless, and Cloud networking domains.
Animesh also has over 5+ years of experience as a Network Automation engineer, working with tools and technologies such as APIs, Ixia, Python, Ansible, YAML, Jinja2, Nornir, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.
He has production network experience with service provider L2 and L3 protocols, such as EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF.
Previously, Animesh worked as a Network Test Automation Engineer at Charter Communications. He worked on testing core networking protocols such as OSPF, and BGP with traffic generators such as Ixia and network devices such as Cisco IOS-XR. His primary responsibility was to automate network test cases and device configurations using Python and Ixia APIs in order to simplify device and protocol testing.

Hackathon highlights:
Animesh won the Twitter API challenge at the Hack CU hackathon conducted by Twitter at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He developed an automated emergency response system and named this project SAFELIFE that allows you to reach out for emergency help by sending out just a tweet. He used Twitter APIs, Twillio APIs, and Python programming to accomplish the project. He was able to demonstrate complete functionality of this project and as a result, the project was selected as the best hack by the Twitter team at the event. Animesh also got an opportunity to present this hack to the Product Managers, Site Lead, Developers at the Twitter, Boulder office.
