A focused 45–60 minute 1:1 online session where you get a clear, personalised roadmap for your cybersecurity journey (SOC / Pentest / Cloud), based on your background, time, and goals.

Who this 1:1 session is for

  • Students (B.E/B.Tech/BSc/BCA/MCA) who feel lost about where to start in cybersecurity.
  • Freshers who have done some courses/YouTube but don’t know what to do next.
  • Anyone confused between SOC, Pentest, and other roles, and wants a practical plan to reach the first job.

What happens in the session (step by step)

1) Quick background check (5–10 minutes)

You and the mentor discuss:

  • Your education (branch, year, or degree).
  • What you have already done: courses, labs, platforms (if any).
  • Your tech comfort: networking, Linux, coding level, tools, etc.

2) Goal and constraints (5–10 minutes)

You define clearly:

  • Target role: SOC Analyst, Junior Pentester, or still undecided.
  • Target timeline: e.g., 6–12 months.
  • Constraints: time per day/week, money for certs, access to good internet, etc.

3) Role recommendation (5–10 minutes)

Based on your background and interests, the mentor will:

  • Suggest the most realistic and suitable first role for you (e.g., SOC → if you like monitoring and analysis; Pentest → if you love breaking/finding bugs).
  • Explain what skills that role actually needs in the real market (not just course marketing).

4) Personalized skill roadmap (15–20 minutes)

You get a structured path with:

  • Learning order: for example,
  • For SOC: Networking → Linux → Security basics → SIEM/logs → Incident response → Tools/labs.
  • For Pentest: Networking → Linux → Web basics → OWASP Top 10 → Tools (Burp, etc.) → Labs/CTFs.
  • Weekly/Monthly breakdown (3–6 month view):
  • What to focus on each month.
  • Suggested free/low‑cost resources and labs (links to public platforms like TryHackMe free, PortSwigger, SANS, etc.).

5) Certification and portfolio plan (10–15 minutes)

You discuss:

  • Whether you need certs now or later, and which ones match your role and budget (e.g., Security+, CEH, etc. – not chosen randomly).
  • How to build a simple portfolio in the next few months:
  • What kind of mini‑projects and reports to do with free tools.
  • How to slowly prepare your GitHub and LinkedIn to show your progress.

What you receive after the session

Within 24–48 hours, you get a written roadmap document (Google Doc/PDF) including:

  • Your chosen target role.
  • A 3–6 month skill roadmap with step‑by‑step topics.
  • Curated list of free/low‑cost learning and lab resources matched to your level.
  • Suggested initial cert plan (if any) and recommended timeline.
  • 2–3 portfolio/project ideas you can start with immediately using free tools
