Restarting your career after a long gap? I’ve been exactly where you are.

I’m Mayank Pratap Singh, a Backend Engineer at Oracle Health. From November 2020 to December 2024, I took a four-year career break to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Coming back wasn’t easy. I restarted as an intern at a startup on a ₹15k stipend. Through focused preparation and the right strategy, I then cleared interviews at Walmart Global Tech and later Oracle Health. Today I’m at a higher level than where I was before my break.

Along the way, I worked out what actually works for career-gap candidates, and I’ve helped friends use the same approach to land well-paying roles.
