I really enjoy the variety and importance of Internal Audit, especially how it helps organizations be honest and work well. Getting to learn about different parts of the business and work with various teams to build good controls is what makes this field so interesting to me. I believe that when internal audit looks ahead and offers good insights, it's key for a company's long-term success. As an Internal Auditor at Wayfair, I make it a point to talk directly with people in different departments to really understand how their money processes work. I'm careful and detailed when I look at things. A big part of what I do is turn complicated financial stuff into simple flowcharts, stories, and reports. These clear documents also help us in our audit work by giving everyone a common understanding of the processes we're reviewing, making it easier to spot any issues and suggest improvements. Through my experiences as an IT Auditor Intern, an Internal Controls Coordinator, and now as an Internal Auditor, I've developed skills such as risk assessment, internal control evaluation, process documentation, data analysis, problem-solving, attention to detail, clear and concise communication, collaboration, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning.
