About me

I’m living the dream. I’ve always been a great problem solver, an independent introvert, and a technophile obsessed with the latest devices. Today, I’m working from home as a software engineer for Amazon, and I get to show off all these elements of who I am. I started learning to code when I was a teenager. After a college education in Computer Science, and continuing to pursue that hobby, I realized software engineering was the right field for me. Since then, I’ve worked on countless freelance projects. I worked as a Big Data Developer with the amazing team at Accenture and today I'm working as SDE at Amazon. I’m also eager to meet other software engineers in the area, so feel free to connect!

Frequently asked questions

How to prepare for Amazon SDE interview?

Start by understanding Amazon's Leadership Principles, since behavioral questions carry significant weight alongside coding rounds. Build a strong foundation in data structures and algorithms, practice coding problems regularly, prepare system design basics for experienced roles, and rehearse STAR-format behavioral answers. Getting feedback from someone who has already gone through the process, such as an SDE currently working at Amazon, can help you identify blind spots before the real interview.

How to crack Amazon SDE interview?

Cracking the Amazon SDE interview requires three things: consistent DSA practice on platforms like LeetCode, deep familiarity with Amazon's Leadership Principles with real examples from your own work, and mock interview practice under time pressure. Many candidates fail not because of weak coding skills but because their behavioral answers lack structure or specific examples, so prepare 8-10 strong STAR stories covering conflict, failure, and leadership situations.

Is Amazon SDE interview hard?

Yes, most candidates find the Amazon SDE interview challenging because it tests coding speed, problem-solving clarity, system design thinking, and behavioral depth all at once, typically across multiple rounds in one day. However, it is very crackable with structured preparation. Candidates who practice medium-to-hard LeetCode problems, understand the interview process, and do mock interviews beforehand report far more confidence going into the loop rounds.

What are the most common Amazon SDE interview questions?

Amazon SDE interview questions usually fall into three buckets: coding problems on arrays, strings, trees, graphs, and dynamic programming; system design questions like scaling a service or designing a feature; and behavioral questions mapped to Leadership Principles such as "Customer Obsession," "Ownership," and "Dive Deep." Reviewing recent Amazon SDE interview experience posts helps you understand which question patterns are currently trending in the process.

What is the Amazon SDE interview process like?

The Amazon SDE interview process typically includes an online assessment with coding questions, one or two phone screen rounds focused on DSA, and then the final loop of 3-4 back-to-back interviews covering coding, system design (for senior roles), and behavioral rounds, including the Bar Raiser round. Each interviewer scores you against Leadership Principles as well as technical skills, so preparation must cover both dimensions.

How many LeetCode problems should I solve for the Amazon SDE interview?

There is no magic number, but most successful candidates solve around 150-300 LeetCode problems with a focus on patterns like two pointers, sliding window, trees, graphs, and dynamic programming rather than random quantity. Amazon SDE interview questions on LeetCode are frequently discussed, so prioritizing the Amazon-tagged problem list is a smart strategy. Practicing out loud while coding also matters, since interviewers evaluate your communication.

How to prepare for a technical interview as a software engineer?

A solid plan is: spend 6-8 weeks on data structures and algorithms practice, dedicate time to system design if you have over a year of experience, prepare behavioral answers with the STAR method, and simulate real conditions with mock interviews. Reviewing your past projects deeply is equally important, since interviewers often probe decisions you made, trade-offs you chose, and how you handled failures.

What are common software engineering interview questions for freshers?

Freshers are usually tested on fundamentals: arrays, strings, linked lists, stacks, queues, recursion, basic OOP concepts, DBMS and SQL basics, operating system concepts, and simple DSA problems. Interviewers also ask about college projects and internships to gauge practical understanding. Freshers who can clearly explain their project decisions and write clean, bug-free code in one attempt stand out significantly.

Is a mock interview worth it before a software engineer interview?

Yes, mock interviews are one of the highest-ROI preparation activities because they replicate the pressure of coding live while explaining your thought process to an interviewer. They expose issues you cannot spot while practicing alone, such as going silent while debugging, weak clarifying questions, or poor time management. Getting a mock interview conducted by someone working at a top product company gives you realistic feedback on both your code and your communication.

Is a professional resume review service worth it for software engineers?

A good resume review service is worth it when the reviewer understands what tech recruiters and ATS systems actually look for, such as quantified impact, relevant keywords, clean formatting, and project descriptions that show ownership. Free AI tools can catch grammar and formatting issues, but an experienced software engineer can tell you whether your projects sound senior enough, which bullets to cut, and how to position your experience for the specific companies you are targeting.

How to review a resume before applying for software engineering jobs?

Review your resume against a simple checklist: does every bullet show measurable impact (numbers, scale, outcomes), is it tailored with keywords from the job description, is it within one to two pages, and does it pass an ATS scan for formatting? Then have someone else read it, ideally an engineer or hiring manager in your target field, because self-reviewing a resume often misses how unclear your project descriptions actually are to outsiders.

Is career guidance useful for software engineers in India?

Yes, especially in India's competitive tech market, where many engineers get stuck deciding between service companies and product companies, when to switch jobs, how to move from SDE-1 to SDE-2, or whether to upskill into new domains. Personalized career guidance from someone working at a top product company helps you get an outside view of your trajectory, fix gaps in your preparation strategy, and avoid costly mistakes like accepting the wrong offer or switching without a plan.
