About this session

Preparing for a Mobile HLD / System Design interview and want to practice in a realistic interview environment?

This is a 60–90 minute interactive mock interview focused specifically on designing scalable mobile applications and SDKs. Instead of simply discussing theory, you’ll be given a system-design problem and expected to drive the solution just like you would in an actual interview.

We’ll work through requirements, architecture, APIs, data flow, storage, caching, networking, scalability, offline support, failure handling, security, performance, and mobile-specific trade-offs.

Topics we can practice

📱 Mobile Infrastructure & SDK Design

• Image Loading Library

• Analytics SDK

• Networking SDK

• File Download Manager

• LRU Cache

• Push Notification System

🏗️ Application/System Design

• Seat Booking System

• Parking Lot

• Inventory System

• Coupon Engine

• Payment System

• Splitwise-style Expense Sharing

• Chat Application

• E-commerce Product Listing

• Instagram-style Feed

• Offline-first News App

• Ride Sharing Application

• Video Streaming Application

• Maps & Live Location Sharing

How the mock interview works

We’ll select one HLD problem for the session.

PLEASE FOLLOW ME ON LINKEDIN AND MESSAGE ME AFTER YOU BOOK A SLOT. I WILL CONFIRM WITH AVAILABILITY.

You’ll start by clarifying functional and non-functional requirements, then progressively design the system.

Depending on the problem, we may discuss:

• Client-side architecture and module boundaries

• API contracts and client-server communication

• REST, WebSockets, polling and real-time communication

• Local database and persistence

• Caching strategies

• Offline-first architecture and synchronization

• Pagination and large datasets

• Background processing

• Retry, timeout and failure handling

• Image/video/file handling

• Authentication and security considerations

• Performance and battery optimization

• Scalability and reliability

• Observability and analytics

• Important Android/mobile-specific trade-offs

The emphasis is not on finding one “perfect” architecture. The goal is to demonstrate structured thinking, requirement clarification, design decisions and the ability to explain trade-offs.

Interview format

60–75 min: HLD mock interview

15–20 min: Detailed discussion and feedback

At the end, we’ll discuss what went well, what could be improved, important areas you may have missed, and how you could structure the same answer more effectively in a real interview.

Who should book?

This session is best suited for:

• Android/Mobile developers preparing for HLD interviews

• Mid-level developers targeting Senior Engineer roles

• Senior Android engineers preparing for product-company interviews

• Developers who understand Android development but struggle to structure system-design answers

• Engineers who want realistic HLD practice rather than another theoretical system-design course

Important

This is a practice and learning session, so you don't need to know everything before joining. The objective is to improve how you approach an unfamiliar design problem and communicate your decisions.

Some sessions may also be recorded for educational/mock-interview content only with the participant's explicit consent. Recording or publishing is completely optional and will never be done without your approval. If you approve, I would like to publish on my future Youtube channel.

Come prepared to think, draw, question assumptions, make trade-offs and design the system as if this were your actual interview.
