I am a 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭 from Sunny Durban. A bit of a geek, I’ve got a sterling academic record (40 distinctions) and have done so many things in the last 5 years that many would swear I have 48-hour days 😁. 𝐀𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫, I love to enable superior performance and excellent results from unexpected sources. This is achieved by creating harmony and efficiency between people, process and technology, fostering a can do attitude and a culture of excellence and continuous reflection and improvement. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 taking up challenges in terms of skills and project endeavor's. Skill challenges are overcome by either surrounding myself with the best or growing the people around me to be best fit for the role they’re in. This is done by creating clarity of purpose, an environment that stimulates growth and learning and public appreciation of the team. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 – I am passionate about efficiency and this allows me to easily pick up on bad processes and practices. I’m a six sigma white belt and certified scrum master with knowledge on the continuum from prescriptive to predictive software engineering methods. This allows me to easily tap into the correct framework for the problem at hand, almost guaranteeing success. I don’t believe the world needs to be agile, instead we should be concerned with how agile or how prescriptive we need to be in order to solve the problem at hand. The approach should always be situational.
