I had an introductory session with her, and I appreciate how enthusiastic she was about my plans! She is well disposed, informed about career paths in social science and a keen listener. I look forward to more sessions with her as she definitely is the person, I was looking for to guide me for my higher education path in India.

About me

The gap: In the field of social sciences, it can be a little tough sometimes to find someone who's walked a walk that you envision walking yourself, seeing success stories of folks who pursued a field of their interest and built a career out of it, and receive tailored career coaching based on the trends in the field. There's not much information about the scope of the different subjects, job opportunities, higher education opportunities, and definitely not a lot spoken about the usefulness of pursuing the field of social sciences. We're often reading stories of how the system lacks resources for folks in our field and finding ourselves struggling to bridge these loopholes. My aim: I've been there. The terror of paving a path that was not walked before. Quite scary - still very very scary. But it was equally exciting as I spent time reading, researching, putting pieces of the puzzle together. I've pursued my Masters from Counseling at University of Pennsylvania, and will be starting my PhD in Counseling at Boston University. I want to use my knowledge in the field to help folks navigating the process! I've worked in Hospitals, Not for Profits, Human Resources while in India; and while in the US, I've worked in Career Centers, Higher Education Administrative Teams, Therapy Centers, and researched in the field of mentorship, psychological safety, and DEI. I've built a strong network in the recruiting and career counseling field; as well as in higher ed teams such as admissions, office of student services, and HR. I believe there's so much we can offer as social scientists, and it's only a matter of understanding how to approach the process, the conversations, and build on your idea of a "fulfilling career". I am a solution-focused, collaborative, generally easy-going career coach. I'll focus heavily on building a rapport and make this process as easy, as relevant, and as tailored to your decision-making as you'd like!
