About me

I’m Md Abdul Mutalib—a dedicated and curious mind in the field of computer science. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Computer Science and Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ), China, where I’ve been awarded the prestigious CSC Type-A Scholarship for the 2025–2028 academic session. My academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from North East University Bangladesh (NEUB). During my undergraduate studies, I worked on a project using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to detect pneumonia from chest X-ray images. That experience opened my eyes to the real-world potential of deep learning and sparked my lasting passion for computer vision, image processing, and intelligent systems. Since then, I’ve continued exploring how technology can solve practical problems. I’ve co-authored several research papers, including a review article titled “Hand Gesture Recognition Systems: A Review of Methods, Datasets, and Emerging Trends”, published in the International Journal of Computer Applications. I’ve also been part of collaborative projects that use machine learning to address environmental challenges, such as forecasting air quality and analyzing water pollution in urban areas of Bangladesh. But research is more than just publishing papers—it’s also about building a community. I previously served as Assistant Director of the Research and Development Unit at UniV, where I helped guide and mentor students in their research journeys. Currently, I’m proud to represent the Bangladesh Computer Society Youth Student Association (BCSYSA) as their Campus Ambassador at HITSZ. In this role, I support student engagement, academic collaboration, and skill development among the global Bangladeshi student community.
