ISB YLP Interview Prep Notes (2018) with Mansi Mittal

With ISB YLP interviews right around the corner, here are a couple of tips that worked for me.

I received my interview invite on 21st September 2018, with the interview scheduled for 29th September — just a week away! The countdown was on, and I knew I had to make the most of this limited time.

📓 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸: I started by collecting around 50 common questions from previous years. These included both behavioral and situational questions like:

"Tell us about a time when you showed initiative and leadership."

"Describe a time when you handled conflict in your team."

"What unique attributes and perspectives will you bring to the class?"

I spent time crafting high-level answers to these questions, focusing on stories from my work experience that would showcase my strengths.

🎒 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵: A major part of my preparation involved understanding ISB deeply. I jotted down all the key facts about the school and how I envisioned my one-year journey there. I made sure to research all the clubs and programs that piqued my interest such as the Business Technology Club and the Experiential Learning Program. I thought about how these would fit into my career aspirations and what value I could add to them.

For all those preparing for ISB YLP interviews, my advice is to stay focused, prepare smartly, and most importantly, be yourself.
