I won my first industry award - the Golden Mic Award for Best Radio Campaign - at the age of 21.
At the time, I didn't realise I was learning a skill that would shape the rest of my career: storytelling.
Over the last decade, I've worked across radio, advertising agencies, apps, media, content, marketing, and partnerships. Across every role, the objective was often the same: get people to take action.
Sometimes that action was downloading an app. Sometimes it was signing up for a campaign, attending an event, following a page, buying a product, or engaging with a brand.
Over the years, I've learned how to use storytelling not just as a creative tool, but as a growth tool.
I eventually brought those same skills to City Girls Delhi. Today, storytelling sits at the heart of how we grow the community. Whether it's an Instagram post, an event concept, a partnership pitch, a WhatsApp message, we use storytelling to drive action. The result is a community of 50,000+ women and over 100 event registrations every week.
The same storytelling principles have shown up in other parts of my life as well. When applying for my Master's, I used storytelling to bring together my experiences, motivations, and vision for the future into a compelling narrative. That story eventually helped me secure admission to the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE) and University College London (UCL)
Because whether you're trying to attract customers, convince a brand partner, build a community, raise funds, hire talent, gain admission to a university, or simply get people to care about your idea, the challenge is often the same: helping someone understand not just what you do, but why it matters.
This session is for founders, creators, community builders, marketers, sales professionals, and anyone whose role involves generating leads, driving registrations, increasing sales, building an audience, or influencing decisions.
We can talk about:
• How to find the right hook that makes people stop and pay attention
• How to convince people why your idea, product, event, or business matters
• The role of emotion, logic, and credibility in storytelling
• Choosing the right tone for your audience and objective
• Why people sign up, buy, register, donate, follow, or take action
• Storytelling frameworks for leads, sales, registrations, and conversions
• Turning features into benefits and information into narratives
• Breaking down successful campaigns, posts, and real examples from my own work
Whether you're trying to get more customers, more registrations, more sales, more followers, more funding, or simply more people to believe in what you're building, I'd be happy to share the frameworks, lessons, and approaches that have worked for me over the last decade.
