Mahalingam has around 13 years of experience in Advanced Analytics/ Big data/ Datawarehousing/ ETL / Business Intelligence/ Coporate Performance Management Solutions. In this role, Mahalingam manages overall Program/Delivery/Vendor and Customer relationship management for some of the top logistics companies based out of North America. Also, he is working with customers in building data foundation strategy for their Big Data/Advanced Analytics needs. In the data foundation strategy program, Mahalingam has directly worked with Customer and understand their big data business use case and need to recommend right big technology stack for that use case and build small prototype and set the process for productionalizing the prototype.. In this role, Mahalingam evaluated pros /cons of Hive/Impala/Drill/Pig and provide recommendations of where to use what of technologies, also evaluated Spark vs Map reduce, Solr vs Endeca vs Elastic Search, nltk vs Standford NLP vs OpenNLP & provided recommendations accordingly. He has done prototype using email, chat & call data and also build an application on top of the communication data for further analysis. He has done protoype for Optical Character Recognition(OCR), in which image files will be converted into text files and build data analysis application on top of unstructured data.
