This course aims to equip professionals and parents with the knowledge and tools to support their child’s sensory processing needs and enhance their overall well-being.
Sensory Diet: A sensory diet is a personalized plan designed to help individuals with sensory processing issues regulate their sensory input. Unlike a food diet, it consists of specific activities tailored to provide the right amount of sensory input to the nervous system. These activities can include deep pressure, proprioceptive activities, vestibular input, and tactile experiences. The goal is to help individuals achieve an optimal level of arousal, enabling them to function effectively in their daily lives.
Parent Communication: Effective communication between parents and professionals is crucial in implementing a sensory diet. This course will cover strategies for parents to understand and support their child’s sensory needs, collaborate with occupational therapists, and create a consistent and supportive environment at home. By fostering open communication, parents can better advocate for their child’s needs and ensure the sensory diet is effectively integrated into daily routines
