Hi, I’m Loay 👋 I’m a Research Assistant and CS PhD student at Indiana University Indianapolis and a software engineer with 5 years of experience at startups in the US, Germany, and Egypt. I’m AWS Developer certified and have worked across the stack: cloud and DevOps on AWS, backends in Node.js/TypeScript and Firebase, web with React, mobile with Flutter and React Native, and Python for data and ML. I’m a product engineer at heart. I’ve sat in client meetings, worked directly with founders and CTOs, and shipped what users actually needed. Teaching is what I love most. I spent four years as a Teaching Assistant at Cairo University, and I learn best by helping others learn. I can help you with: Breaking into software engineering or landing your first startup role Resume and portfolio reviews Cloud/AWS and full-stack learning paths Applying for a PhD or Master’s in the US (fellowships, SOPs, choosing programs) Growing from developer to product-minded engineer Book a session, and let’s figure out your next step together.
