Cell phones have had features like silent mode or vibrate mode for decades. Smartphones today have taken these features even further with Do Not Disturb. Not only does this mode block calls and messages, it also blocks all other app notifications unless you specifically allow it. But not everyone is comfortable with the idea of blocking or simply ignoring calls and texts. It would be nice if your phone sets up automatic text reply on Android, wouldn't it?
Auto reply to messages on Android
On Android, there are several apps that can come to your rescue if you want to automatically reply to text messages. You can use the SMS Auto Reply app to set up an automatic SMS reply on Android. But you might use other apps also.
· Install and open SMS Auto Reply application from Play Store on your phone.
· Clock on "Add or Edit" option of the application on the main screen.
· In the next screen, choose Model from the drop-down menu.
· Edit Auto Reply Message Your own.
· At the end of the screen, ensure SMS use to be selected as the channel.
· Now click Save to finish setting up auto reply to messages on Android.
Once configured, your phone will now respond to all your text messages. Make sure you have allowed all app permissions to work properly.
Set an automatic reply SMS for a specific contact
After that, you can select specific people who will receive automatic replies. This way you can have more control over who receives what type of message. You can use it to leave more personalized messages for specific people. To configure this,
· Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the custom menu title.
· Write your personal message and click OK.
· Now tap on the Add Contacts button.
· Choose to assign it to a specific contact or to multiple contacts.
· Click Close When you're done
On the next page, you can add specific messages to specific contacts by clicking the Add Contacts button. You can also add specific messages to an entire contact group by clicking the "Add group" button. When finished, click on the "Close" button to return to the previous screen. When you're ready, click the "Save" button at the bottom to save the newly created rule. You will then be prompted to select a time, date, or days that you want the auto attendant to be on.
Select the desired configuration and press the Save button again. This will take you to the on / off responses screen. You can access this screen manually at any time from the side menu drawer.
When you try to run the newly created rule to automatically reply to messages, you will be prompted to grant certain permissions.
Once the required permissions are granted, you can see the rule toggle in the app. You can go ahead and create multiple rules for different occasions.
