About me

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Systems and Synthetic Biology at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona, working in the Dynamics of Living Systems Group. Our lab focuses on unraveling the complexities of life and aging, combining experimental biology with computational insights. I love playing with gene expression data, exploring gene regulatory network construction algorithms, and reading about stochastic processes (also in a philosophical sense). I graduated with a background in Biochemical Engineering, specializing in Genetic and Protein Engineering from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Throughout my academic journey, I have gained hands-on experience in various aspects of molecular biology, genetics, and bioinformatics. My research experience spans diverse areas, showcasing my adaptability and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary challenges. For my Master's thesis, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Vikash Kumar Dubey, I explored the mechanism of Isoniazid killing and drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I employed a combination of bioinformatics analyses, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics simulations to uncover critical insights into drug resistance mechanisms. Outside of academics, I am an avid football player, a chess enthusiast, a voracious reader of novels, and a passionate traveller. These interests reflect my well-rounded personality and my commitment to growth both academically and personally. I am driven by curiosity and the desire to contribute meaningfully to the scientific community and the world at large.
