Being an investment banker was a great experience; I got to learn a lot about Daily operations, Client management, and client reporting. Competing on the floor with a team of 40 members was a huge deal, me a young ambitious professional not only got the opportunity to learn but also got to apply my skills on a regular basis, and the acquired knowledge was put to test. It wasn’t an easy ride as working under pressure, under Cut-offs and SLA's really gave me a perspective about time management and most importantly-the importance of each second. Within a span of 20 months I worked with all 3 regions- APAC, EMEA AND NAM, was directly dealing with Asian, European and American clients and counter-parties. Also worked with both Derivatives market and Over the counter (OTC) processes. Roles and Responsibilities- • Brokerage rate calculation & validation in Varcity (Trade confirmation and Broker Hub) • To pay brokerage in Procure to pay (P2P) for all third party & proprietary business. • Responsible for placing and settling margin calls, performing reconciliation, and resolving disputes. • Worked closely together with the Static data team, Settlements, Traders, and Clients to ensure accurate information is updated within our processing database.
