Being a Therapist in This Effed Up World is an online sharing circle for therapists and mental health professionals who want to come together, connect, and make room for the experiences we don't always get to talk about.
A space to talk, feel, grieve, rage, reflect, doodle, write, make art, sit in silence, or simply be around people who understand something about the complexities of this work.
You don't have to arrive with a problem to solve or leave with a solution.
You don't have to be articulate, insightful, or particularly hopeful that day.
You can participate in whatever way feels comfortable to you.
We're holding space for everyone else. Maybe it's time we held some for ourselves.
This gathering is open to therapists, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals at different stages of their careers.
Whether you're in private practice, working in an organisation, training, working in advocacy, or figuring out what it means to be a mental health professional in the current world, there's room for you here.
You don't have to have something profound to share.
You can come simply because you'd like to spend time with people who understand the weight of this work
This is a facilitated peer sharing circle, not a therapy group, clinical supervision session, or professional training.
There will be no expectation to disclose personal experiences, offer advice, or find solutions for one another.
We'll make room for different experiences, perspectives, and ways of participating, while approaching each other with curiosity, care, and respect.
Confidentiality, consent, and the freedom to pass will be important parts of how we hold this space together.
