About me

I am a passionate and creative undergraduate researcher at San Francisco State University (SFSU), pursuing a dual degree in computer science and biology. I am driven by the mission of using technology to advance scientific discovery and innovation, and I enjoy collaborating with diverse and interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems. I have a unique combination of skills and interests that allow me to apply computational and biological concepts to real-world applications. Currently, I am working as a member of the Esquerra Lab at SFSU, where we document the effects of pollutants on the reproductive rates of Drosophila Melanogaster, as well as the behavior of Stentor Coereleus. To achieve this, we have modified a 3D printer with a computer vision system, and connected it to a Raspberry Pi to control the movements with Python. My role involves deconstructing 3D printers, designing custom parts, and writing Python scripts to handle the autofocusing of the camera. I also use Shapr3D and Autodesk Tinkercad to create 3D models and prototypes for the Robocam. Through this project, I have gained valuable experience in data analysis, computer vision, and 3D printing, as well as enhanced my creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills.
